Saltend Chemicals Park

Invest at Saltend

The 370-acre Saltend site is one of the UK’s most important multi-user manufacturing locations with world-class chemical, process and energy businesses that continue to invest hundreds of millions of pounds in their facilities. With space for more companies on site and room for expansion, get in touch with our Investment Team today to explore why Saltend could be the perfect site for your business.

Saltend is known for being well-maintained and for having an informed, streamlined decision making process that supports seamless, simple entry on to site for new partners.

Once on site, partners have easy access to a wide range of competitively priced utilities, shared services and integrated infrastructure providing an economical operating base.

Operations & Maintenance of facilities on site can be taken care of, too, by owners of Saltend, px Group, which operates key infrastructure and multiple Upper-Tier COMAH sites across the UK.

Plug & play Infrastructure & jetty Safety & security Zero Harm Digitalisation Investment Team Plug & play

Saltend is an interconnected network of chemicals producers and industrial manufacturers, allowing partners on site to prosper from the integration of feedstock products and utilities, creating multiple considerable advantages and mutual benefits.

Through our Plug & Play model, partners access utilities such as power, steam and water ‘through the fence’, allowing partners to focus on their key business operations and not having to worry about different utility providers.

Our expert understanding of UK rules and regulations, and years of experience of ‘on-boarding’ new partners from overseas, means that we can help you get on site and up-and-running in a matter of months.

Infrastructure & jetty

The Saltend infrastructure means there is no other place in England that offers more complete transport access.

  • Via Sea – Deepwater Jetty: Saltend offers partners access to an integrated deepwater jetty, allowing them to take delivery of feedstock and export their products by sea. Saltend’s site location on the east coast of the country means we’re close to key European ports, like Rotterdam, Antwerp, and Amsterdam.
  • Via Rail: Partners can connect to Saltend’s own rail network – which provides direct access to the national rail network – to bring in raw materials and export their finished products.
  • Via Road: Just five miles from the Hull city centre and with direct access to the three-lane A road, transporting goods in and out of the park is simple.

As part of the wider Humber region, Saltend was recently awarded Freeport Status by the UK Government bringing a range of benefits to Saltend partners:

  • Accelerated capital allowances
  • Stamp duty and land tax (SDLT) relief
  • Business rate relief
  • Relief from employer’s National Insurance contributions for the first three years of operation
Safety & security

As an Upper-Tier COMAH site, safety and security is our number one priority at Saltend.

Saltend draws on decades of experience, underpinned by excellent safety standards and procedures, to deliver a safe environment for all who work on the site or come into contact with the operations and products.

The team provides support, advice and information, monitors compliance and administers the health and safety systems necessary to reduce risk and the impact that operations may have on people and the environment.
